Really enjoyed this! Definitely too much noodles I would say half the recipe. The recipe says spring onions in the method but not in the list so we had without and was still tasty!

I know it's probably the brands I used, but it was so salty we couldn't eat very much of it. I tried adding some rice vinegar and more water to dilute it, but it wasn't enough, and the fishy flavor increased over time, so leftovers were gross (beyond the saltiness). The rice noodles also don't hold up over time, so best to only make a small portion to eat same day.

Super salty, had to add rice vinegar and dilute with water to make it palatable, but flavor was good! Guess it was the brands of condiments that I used 🤷🏻‍♀️

Amazing! Used less noodles as per other reviews too. 100g dried total was enough for us 2 and a filling portion

Hey Finn! Loving the app so far! I can’t see any reference to the Birds Eye chilli’s in the method or instructions? Is this used for the sauce you’ve spooned over at the end of the dish in the video? Is this just chili spring onions in oil?

Hey! So glad you’re loving the app! I’ve just gone through and updated. I removed the spring onions - would be nice but not essential! For the chillies, they are sliced and sprinkled over the finished dish. The sauce in the video (very confusing sorry) I had some left over in my fridge. It’s basically fish sauce, sugar, lime, garlic and chillies. The recipe is in the drunken noodles recipe

Tried to make 4 portions. Ended up with 6! Did it with beef blade instead of chicken and added broccolini. Very tasty!

Sauce is a bit strong/too salty, even after I reduced the amount of fish sauce. Could be an issue with the brands I used, though. Otherwise a great proxy for restaurant pad see ew

Annoyingly, the saltiness of soy, oyster sauce and fish sauce do vary quite a lot between brands. Next time, dry less light soy as it’s more salty than dark soy and add 3/4 of the sauce first. Give it a try and add more if needed

My sauce was a bit too thin. Wondering if that was due to the lack of dark soy sauce. Also thinking that peanuts might add a bit of crunch and some fresh herbs. The cabbage was hard to estimated as a normal cabbage in CH seems too large for a 2 person recipe. Used only half of it and was plenty.

I’ll start adding cabbage by weight as it seems they vary a lot country to country! In terms of the sauce, you just want to reduce it a little bit more in the pan but yes, dark soy really helps with that

0,5 hispi per portion seems a lot! Maybe the Dutch hispi cabbage is bigger(?) - we do ~400 grams for a full hispi. Maybe add grams instead of amounts? Taste is top-notch!

Absolutely yum! Just a tip - Finn has used waaaay too much of the noodles, so I used around 160g, and it was perfect! You can also add a pinch of MSG to the sauce for that extra umami. 😋
